Product Description
Plastifix is a revolutionary methacrylate monomer adhesive system that allows you to fill gaps and fabricate missing pieces. Repairs virtually any rigid plastic including ABC, polycarbonate (PC), PVC, PET, SMC, and fiberglass. Also works on wood and metal. This kit includes 30 grams of WHITE powder, 50 ml of liquid, one molding bar, two application needles, two applicator cups, and one transfer pipet. Mixing the entire contents would be just a little bit smaller than a golf ball. Also available in Black and Clear. Does NOT work on olefin plastics like polyethylene, polypropylene, TPO, and TEO.

A previous reviewer mentioned their experience in using the wooden sticks, supplied with the kit. What I use is an exacto knife with a pointed blade. I add the liquid to my part needing repair, a little at a time via the supplied hollow-needle dropper bottle. Then add some powder. Back & forth between liquid and powder; until the area is built up as needed. For smoothing and/or manipulating the plastic "goo", the exacto blade works great. Especially if the build-up surface area is built up with too much repair material (and you find that some material to be removed). I wait until the plastic mixture firms up, but has not completely hardened. It is easily Sliced away with the Exacto. This little... Works amazingly well! I swear it's a stronger fix than the original plastic. Easy to use, with clear directionsCons: As a person should expect, the liquid binder smells HORRIBLE. Very strong solvent smell. Tricky to apply with included popsicle stick before plastic begins to harden. Other: Kind of a creamy white color, not solid white. But still would definitely recommend, just make sure you use this in a ventilated area, and practice applying to a hidden area first if possible. |
