POR-15 is a high-tech, high performance rust-preventive coating designed for application directly on rusted or seasoned metal surfaces. It dries to an incredible rock-hard, non-porous finish that won't chip, crack, or peel, and it prevents rust from recurring by protecting metal from further exposure to moisture. Use it to coat rusty frames, floor pans, farm equipment, marine equipment, or even a heavily corroded battery tray. POR-15 is sensitive to UV light (sun) and must be topcoated for prolonged exposure to sunlight. Topcoating is not required for areas not exposed to sunlight.

| 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful  Goes on easy, comes off never!, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: POR-15 BLACK SEMI-GLOSS RUST PREVENTIVE PAINT - QUART Painting the frame and what-not under my truck.Prep: sprayed anything I wanted to paint with a citrus cleaner/degreaser and scrubed with industrial scothbrite pad. Rinsed with the garden hose, let dry. Application: Long pants, long sleeve shirt, long gloves(like your mom uses to wash dishes), face shield or at least some goggles(especially if you wear glasses!!!). Tip: If you're gonna do it bare faced, apply a liberal coat of vaseline to your face, that way the paint that splatters won't stick to your skin. The paint is pretty thin so it goes on easy. Buy some disposable "cut brushes" and throw em out when you're done. As the directions say: DO NOT paint right out of the can. Pour what you need into a disposable container and seal the can back up right away. Air and moisture are the enemies of storing this paint. I have the last 10-12 ounces in a plastic water bottle in the fridge. The bottle was squeezed to push all the air out before capping. Goes on easy...
