It's a glossy black. The six pack is especially good if you're going to need it numerous times and are worried that it will dry out between uses. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful  POR-15 Semi Gloss, By Eric Cartman "Cartman" (Lake Stevens, WA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: POR-15 SIX PACK*GLOSS BLACK* GLOSS BLACK - SIX PACK So this is what I experimented with: I used a can of POR-15 chassis coat on one inner fender well and one coat of POR-15 semi gloss protective paint on the other fender well of the car I am restoring.In theory, the chassis coat is supposed to top coat the POR-15, as it is not sensitive to UV light and won't fade; however, as little UV light actually gets to the fender well, I don't think the added weight or expense is needed. I found the chassis coat to be less forgiving in terms of coverage, meaning, the surface required more prep work to make it look nicer. The fender wells are pretty well banged up, being over 40 years old and subjected to all the road dirt, grime, etc. I also removed the original factory applied undercoating before painting, (though I did try painting the undercoat first with POR-15 gloss, but it looked terrible). My recommendation is to use the POR-15 protective paint without topcoat, unless you absolutely have to have the top coat. Buy it in... I like the gloss because it seems to last forever. You can spread it right over the rust but I sand the surface down first anyway. It cures like iron. A little can goes a long way. My garage is incomplete without this stuff on the shelf. A million uses. |
